A Starr 1863 Army Revolver. 14 ¾” overall, 8” barrel with blade foresight, inspector’s mark on left hand side. 6 shot 44 calibre cylinder, frame stamped ‘Starr Patent Jan 15 1856’ on the right hand side & ‘Starr Arms Co New York’ on the left. Numbered 36518, single action. Walnut one piece grips with owner’s initials ‘HH’ inscribed on the butt.

In good condition, some fading to brown finish, with numerous military inspectors’ marks.

After Colts and Remington’s the Star is the most common Civil War revolver with the US Government buying about 25,000.
