A Fine Scottish Heart Butt Flintlock Pistol by I.O. of Edzell. 13” overall, 9” three stage round barrel with octagonal muzzle & one silver band. The lock of Highland form with traces of ‘I.O.’ signature, stock of iron with seven silver bands and one around the heart shaped butt. Ball trigger & pricker. Ring decorated long belt hook and baluster tipped iron rammer.
Circa 1730.
One of only three known pistols by this maker. In relatively good condition for its age.
