A Very Rare French 1822 Light Cavalry Troopers Sword for Egypt by Wilkinson. 41” overall, 35” slightly curved blade with single wide fuller, marked on the ricasso ‘WILKINSON, PALL MALL, LONDON’ The brass three bar hilt with domed pommel & fish skin covered grip with twisted brass wire. Iron scabbard with two rings.

In unissued condition, near mint. Old storage grease.
Made by Wilkinson Sword of Pall Mall, London, on contract for the Egyptian Army whilst it was under British control at the end of the 19th century.
