A Fine Cased Pair of Percussion Travelling Pistols by Alex Thompson of Edinburgh . 8” overall, 3 1/8” turn off 50 bore barrel, box lock actions with scroll engraved sides, signed ‘Thompson Edinburgh’ on action tang, Birmingham proofs, dolphin hammers, concealed folding triggers, finely chequered bag shaped walnut butts with vacant silver escutcheon. Contained in their original purple velvet lined mahogany case, complete with accessories including powder flask, nipple/barrel key, bullet mould, Joyce cap tin & turn screw, with key, the two lidded compartments with bone lifters, the inside of the lid with maker's trade label.
