
An Unusual Pair of Overcoat Flintlock Pistols by Smith. 9” overall, 3” sighted octagonal 28 bore rifled barrels signed ‘Smith London’ on the top flats, fitted with spring bayonets on left side & released by a sliding catch, Birmingham Proofs. Border & scroll engraved bolted actions, throat hole cocks, roller frizzens with adjustable spring mounted beneath the pans, the trigger guards decorated with stands of arms, the top of the actions& tangs decorated to match, slab sided wooden butts with chequered backs, in a relined mahogany case with commensurate accessories comprising three way red leather covered powder flask, oil bottle, bullet mould, turn screw and wad cutter.
