Cased American Pepperbox’s are rare, this set is I believe unique, I cannot find another cased example. Pecare & Smith is one of the most sought after of all American pepperboxes. The distinctive shield design for the barrels was to prevent the cluster from being grasped and held by the assailed party, not allowing the shooter to fire.
