
A Beautiful Little Cased Percussion Muff Pistol. 3 ¾” overall, 7/8” round blued turn-off 150 bore barrel decorated with a foliate band at the muzzle, stamped below with Birmingham proofs, double border line engraved gilt brass box lock action, decorated with scrolling foliage on both panels fitted with a sliding safety catch that locks the hammer at half cock. Finely chequered walnut butt, with shield shape escutcheon engraved with a griffon’s head, small oval silver butt cap. In its original lined & fitted case, with barrel key & two empty compartments, possibly for percussion caps & ball. The exterior of the box is red leather, the box is secured with two brass catches.
