
A Percussion .44 Calibre Remington 1861 Army Revolver. 14 ½” overall, 8” octagonal barrel with short blade foresight, engraved on top flat in two lines ‘Patented December 17th 1861Manufactured By Remington Sons, Illon , N Y’, stamped underneath number ‘7482’, solid frame with sighting groove on top strap. Hinged loading lever under barrel, six shot cylinder spur hammer, brass trigger guard. Walnut two piece grip with very faint inspector’s cartouche. Numerous ‘RS’ inspector’s marks on frame, barrel & cylinder. Named faintly ‘I. S. Bland O.V.I’ in pencil inside the grips. With contemporary brown leather military style holster.
