11 ½” overall, 6” barrel with 2 line ‘Adress Saml Colt New York City’. Cylinder with stagecoach scene. Action marked ‘Colt Patent’. Silver plated trigger guard, grip & back strap. Varnished walnut grips. Trigger guard & barrel with military inspectors’ stamps. Faintly engraved ‘7th ACO.’ on bottom of the butt.
Numbered 158430 for 1859
In good condition, matching numbers, some finish, varnished grips very good.
It has been suggested that 7th ACO may refers to A Company 7th Texas Infantry, Anderson County.
