A very fine double edged dirk by George Butler & Co, 12 ½” overall, 7 12” double edged blade of stiff diamond section engraved “George Butler & Co Trinity Works Sheffield England”, key logo and further engraved “Arthur J Young Royal Air Force 1936” with German silver cross guard and ferrule, round section chequered ebony grip. In its original block leather scabbard stamped “G Butler & Co Sheffield England”.
A very high quality knife in good condition. Short hairline crack in ebony hilt, otherwise in very good condition.

Squadron Leader Arthur J Young served the entire Second World War in the Indian Air Force flying both bombers and fighters.
