A Very Rare 1796 Pattern Heavy Cavalry Officers Ladder Hilted Pipe Back Sword.

41” overall, 36” pipe backed blade with quill tip, boat shaped pierced steel hilt with single looping side bar, twisted brass wire bound leather covered grip.

Circa 1810-21

A very rare and hard to find sword in uncleaned condition, lacking scabbard. The extra side bar is very uncommon feature, cannot find a similar example recorded.
