14 ¾”  overall, 10" heavy octagonal 40 bore browned twisted, scratch rifled barrels. Rectangular platinum cartouche on top flat stamped ‘JOSEPH MANTON PATENT’ & a crown. Platinum touch hole & line at breach, no proof marks. Blade foresight, half circle notch rear sight. Flat scroll engraved lockplates signed 'Joseph Manton London', sliding safeties, scroll engraved flat hammers with removable noses. Figured walnut half stocks chequered at the wrist. Silver vacant oval escutcheon, engraved steel furniture, trigger guard engraved with martial trophy with ‘5055’ in centre & tip of leaf edging with pineapple finial, domed steel butt cap and horn fore end with horn tipped ramrods. In their original green baize lined & fitted mahogany case with round brass vacant escutcheon surrounded by ring handle to lid. Correct 1810-12 trade label.  Bone keyhole escutcheon in the shape of an inverted tear drop. With original accessories including red leather three way flask, bullet mould, cleaning rod with worm, two cap tins and a nipple key. 

Pistols and case in very good condition retaining most original finish. Bores very good.

Made in 1810 and converted by the maker circa 1825.
