A 1796 Blue and Gilt Infantry Officers Sword

38” overall. 32” straight fullered blue and gilt blade with crown GR, foliage and trophies of arms. Back edge of the blade signed ‘Cooper & Craven’. Double shell guard, D shaped knucklebow, faceted pommel, twisted silver wire grip. In its original leather and gilt mounted scabbard with two suspension rings.

Sword in worn condition, no blue remains on blade, gilt on hilt mostly worn, scabbard in quite good condition, dry but no splits.
