A Fine Double Barrelled 20 Bore John Manton Sporting Gun. 46” overall, 30” barrels, blade fore sight, patent breaches with gold line, signed ‘Manton London’ in gold on rib, gold touch holes, London proofs. Finely engraved tang, flat bevelled locks signed ‘Manton’ with semi-waterproof pans, flat swan necked cocks with forward curl on combe, rollers on toe of frizzens. Figured walnut stock with chequered wrist, engraved iron mounts including trigger guard engraved with a hound & ‘Manton’ in an oval, with pineapple finial. Horn tipped ramrod with worm.
