
A Good Cased 20 Bore Percussion Single Barrelled Two Groove Rifle by Joseph Egg & Sons London. 48 ½” overall, 32” octagonal barrel, mint two groove bore, adjustable fore sight, standing rear sight with four leaves. Signed ‘Joseph Egg & Sons’ on top flat with London proof underneath, and numbered ‘3222’. Patent breech, scroll engraved tang, walnut half stock chequered at wrist and fore end, with horn forend cap. Ebony ramrod, engraved lockplate signed ‘Joseph Egg & Sons London’, flat dolphin hammer, engraved iron furniture, trigger guard with pineapple finial and numbered ‘3222’.
Contained in its wooden relined case with nailed leather covering. Some accessories including leather cover Hawksley flask, cap tin, oil bottle and nipple key, reproduction label in case lid.
